I bought this computer at first to be a Television PC. To watch Hulu on my big Sharp LCD. In that regard it was flawless. I did have to buy a wireless USB card to access our home wireless network but I knew that going in. They do make models with built in wireless but this one was on sell at Fry's so I got it there. After a few months, my work computer developed some problems and I brought this computer up to my office to work as my main work computer. Still flawless. It handles my two monitor setup and is just perfect for a work computer. I am very happy with Acer. I have a Acer netbook that I use on business trips and now I am looking to buy another TVPC to watch Hulu.
Maybe I am lucky with Acer and others have been unlucky, but I rate them as a best buy and excellent!

DDLB ( Cincinnati ) Priced right
I bought this as a refurb for $300. Three VERY important things to perhaps save you a lot of time and grief.
1. Mine did not come with a dvi to vga adapter. This item is a must to set it up with your computer monitor as Acer had disabled the VGA port on the back of the computer. This computer came with no manual and the online pdf I found was useless.
2. Setting up hdmi from the computer to hdmi on my tv for the video portion was easy. BUT getting the sound from the TV was a nightmame. Since I am not computer savvy I tried all the adjustments for sound on the TV and even DirecTv but what you have to do is go into sound via control panel and then highlight the Realtek Digital Output - click on properties and under support formats check the Microsoft WMA Pro Audio - under sample rates I checked both 44.1 khzs and 48.0 khz. This worked for me.
3. It does not come with a wifi card. However it works excellent hardwired into your router. I did, however, buy a linksys usb wireless adapter that I am having problems with - not sure if it is the adapter or the Acer or some sort of incompatibility with Vista - just don't know.

C. Lau ( Washington, D.C. ) So far, so good
I have this desktop setup for about 6 weeks. I use it everyday. Other than the 64x standard gave me some trouble when installing certain drivers, I did not have any problem with this pc. I don't like Vista also but don't want to pay extra for a XP downgrade. I also own 2 laptops by Acer. They seem to work well, including the one that I purchased almost 2 years ago. Considering the price and its power, this is not a bad product, although I am keeping my fingers crossed.

The computer is fast and suits all of my needs so far. I do not care for the Vista OS,perferring the XP, but that is not an issue with the ACER. Overall, I think is is bargain.

Acer has to be the WORST brand ever. If Goldstar made computers, they would probably be better. I actually created restore disks only to not have them work when I needed them. I would steer clear of this crappy Chinese/Taiwanese crappity crap crap. And -that's- the poop on this company!
